A brief welcome and orientation to the day's program. 11:00 AM - Guided tour of Historic Richmond Town museum complex A guided walk through one of New York's foremost living history museums, exploring more than 30 historic buildings and sites dating from the late 17th to early 20th centuries: the civic, commercial, and domestic world that surrounded St. Andrew's parish for three hundred years. Your ticket is included in your registration. 12:30 PM - Catered lunch at Church of St. Andrew Blessing by Fr. Terrence Buckley Catered by Montalbano's Deli; lunch is included in your registration. 1:30 PM - Talk: Colonial church history & the interactive tour of the Church of St. Andrew A lecture and guided exploration of the parish's colonial history from the Glorious Revolution to the American Revolution, led by Alex Baltovski and Eileen Gupta. The Highlights include the multi-ethnic origins of the congregation, including the Scottish diaspora among the colonial missionaries, the parish's ties to slavery, the Great Awakening, and the American Revolution. We will also discuss Samuel Seabury's role as rector and first American Episcopal bishop, the Seton and Charlton family connections and the parish's rich archival holdings, including the silver chalices and royal charter presented by Queen Anne in 1712. 2:30 PM - Evening Prayer, Church of St. Andrew A service of Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer of 1662, the same liturgical text in use in this parish at the time of its founding, and a fitting close to a day spent walking in the footsteps of the colonial congregation. 3:00 PM - Departure
