5:30 - Organ Demonstration 6:00 - Annual Meeting in the Nave 6:45 - Windows Tour 7:00 - Picnic Reception in the Atrium Organ Demonstration: St. Michael's Church Choirmaster and Organist John Cantrell will present a hands-on history of pipe organs and demo the St. Michael's tracker-action pipe organ, built in 1967 by the Rudolph von Beckerath Organ Company of Hamburg, Germany. This brief presentation will include amazing photos, a quick peek inside the organ to see the innards and how it works, and the chance to hear John put the organ through its paces with a piece by Bach! Annual Meeting: Open to all; current Church Club Members may vote. Please note that the Annual Meeting itself does not require a ticket. Tiffany Windows Tour: On this brief tour led by member Marianna Klaiman, members and guests will encounter one of Tiffany Studios ecclesiastical masterpieces the "St. Michael's Victory in Heaven" windows. These seven, twenty-two foot high lancet windows are the largest intact installation of Tiffany stained glass in the world. Their jewel-tones bathe the sanctuary in ethereal light and perfectly compliment the white Vermont marble high altar, mosiac reredos, credence niche, pulpit, lecturn and altar railings all designed by Tiffany. The tour will also highlight the spectacular Tiffany mosaics reredos and columns in the Chapel of the Angels as well as signature Tiffany lighting fixtures, all embodying the opulent craftsmanship and spiritual symbolism of the American Aesthetic Movement at its height. Picnic Reception in the Atrium: Join fellow members, guests, and friends for a delicious picnic-style meal in St. Michael's beautifully renovated Atrium. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, assorted sandwiches, salads, and desserts, along with wine and soft drinks.
